I have hatched quite a few pure bantam buff orps and NEVER have I had that. I agree NOT normal smutt and would not use them as regular buffs and unfortunately you will probably not be able to show them, looks like something may have jumped pens at the hatchery.

After looking thru brooders yesterday I realized I have whites coming out my ears!! Lots more pullets than cockerels too.

Several more cuckoo in LD this morning and 18 more lavs due in a little over a week.

Yeap, barred/cuckoo. I know a few already exist thanks to Don but unfortunately I didn't get any of those so had to hatch my own.
