I toe punch when if take them out of the incubator. Seems to work well for me. They almost never bleed, but some squeak kinda sad when I do it. I pretty much just hatch for me though... So not sure how it would be received by...

Well- it has the leg feathering of the imported partridge orps. Maybe a split? I dunno, it defiantly looks black to me. Did you buy the eggs, or are they your own? If they are yours I'd say you have a sneaky roo ;)
maybe the breeder has a split chocolate roo in with her blacks - unknowingly. Anyway, lucky you if they are chocolates (or maybe not if you did not want chocolate?)!

Soooo... English cream orpington... What the heck color/combo of colors is that? I googled it, but all I can find is the ads from the person offering them. I am curious what they are genetically (some kind of laced color but...??) ... I cannot put my finger on what they look like. I mean no...
