I play around with the Easter eggers have white hens, red and white, basic partridge patterns, chocolates (the sex linked chocolate), blue, splash, etc.
It's fun to see what I get out of them.
they are Easter eggers. Ameracauna only lay blue/green and have a breed standard to go by. Most people do not know the difference between ameracauna and Easter eggers. Mainly thanks to the hatcheries labeling them as americana. They spell it differently and most do not know any better.
if I want to up the protein in my breeding bird without changing feeds I add in some catfish food. it is usually 30% or higher in protein and nothing in it is harmful to chickens
is she is carrying 1copy for beards/muffs, then half the chicks will be bearded/muffed. Of she carries 2 copies then all the chicks will be bearded/muffed
Here is my old man. I call him white boy :gig he has free ranged since the day he hatched and has been a great flock guardian. I just took these a few minutes ago. He is still recovering from molt.
nugget is your only pullet. The other three are cockerels. Roscoe is likely an olive Egger which would mean he could be a cross of an Ameracauna and a cuckoo Marans. Parmesan looks very similar to one I grew out this year for my breeding pen. Here's a picture of him about the same age as yours
