Congratulations @Rshumpal! They’re adorable.
My Speckled Sussex pullet is MIA as of this afternoon. I can’t fjnd a trace of her anywhere. She is/was a determined escape artist, so I had a feeling she wouldn’t live to a ripe old age, but she hadn’t even laid her first egg yet! :barnie I suspect...
Good morning, everyone! I'm really hoping we're going to get a break from this heat soon; my pasture is downright crispy these days.
The first of my April pullets (a RIR) started laying this week! :celebrate Her hatch mates should be joining the party soon. I swear she's been holding out for...
@HomesteaderWife, I keep a close eye on Craigslist and on local Facebook groups (though that's gotten trickier with the recent crackdown on animal ads). Like I said, I'm not in a hurry to find anything, but it's always harder when you want specific breed(s).

I absolutely adored my Faverolles; I was heatbroken when I lost her. I'm so glad I was able to get ome chicks from her last eggs.
Thank you! I definitely won't be keeping all five chicks; if there are any extra pullets, I will let you know. I should be able to discern their sexes when their...
Thanks! The father is a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana. One chick is from a Rhode Island Red egg, and the others are out of eggs from my (recently deceased) Salmon Faverolles.
Oh no! I've been worried about that all afternoon. Hopefully your power will be back on soon. Until then, I'd maybe wrap your incubator in towels or blankets to try to keep as much heat inside as possible. At least it's summer time; I can't imagine how I'd feel if something like that happened in...
