Hot up here in Crescent City today, too, but too smokey to open anything now that's it's cooled down outside. All the fans are going, but it's still warmer inside than outside.
I'm in Crescent City, too! This is a great group, but most of the Californians who are regular posters are 4+ hours away... OR4-HMOM is only a couple hours away, though.

I'm in Crescent City, so you're 8 miles closer to Oregon than I am. Less than 3 hours from me, too! OR4HMom is about halfway between us--around Medford/Grants Pass.
Scroll to the very bottom of the page (once you've gotten to the forum you want to add a thread to) and you should see a box that says Mobile Desktop. Click on desktop. Then there will be a blue button at the top that says something like "Start a new thread" :)

Ah, man... I've got a surprise party to do tomorrow. Be a darn good decoy, though... Can't quite justify the 4 hour round trip, though.

I sorta thought that you may not've come this far, once I posted. But if you escape the heat again, you know where I am through Sunday! (Yes, we sell on the 5th. We can sell until noon on the 6th, but we're done, no matter how much unsold stuff we have!)

Thanks! One reason I wrote it is that, while there are lots of detailed, focused articles and blog entries online covering different aspects of chicken keeping, I couldn't really find anything that covered everything (and I certainly found out why--I had to force myself to not get too detailed...
