Speaking of animal hoarders, this week in Waukesha 330 chinchillas were seized and the house they were in deemed uninhabitable. The people were breeding them (and apparently not selling any?!) Wonder if any will be sent to the shelters around here. They are crazy fun little critters.

A "Chinese Auction" is another way to do that.  Each prize has a container next to it for the tickets.  Write your name on the back of each ticket and drop them in the containers for the things you want/need.  The better prizes will have more tickets in them and will be harder to come by and no...

Its a milk fermentation process. You need kefir grains (looks like clumps of rubbery white cheese). Add them to milk, usually 1-2qt batches; let it all sit in a dark place 24hrs, then refridgerate 12-24 hours more. Strain out the grains and voila, kefir!

Ive wanted to try making 'bootch' too. Kefir is yummy and easy to do, I just let my grains sit too long and they went bad. Have to find some more. AND I really want to learn to make water kefir - homemade soda!
