Post a pic when you get a chance! These have changed a lot so far, with all the white coming in, so I can't wait to see what they look like as adults. The only real hint of mama that I see in them right now is the dark gray legs. I am hoping they at least have tiny muffs and beards eventually.

My older one is just barely starting to get a crest but it is hard to see in pics because it is black against black! The second picture is the younger one. The last one is the dad, all grown up now at 5 1/2 months old.

It's a Panasonic DMC-G3 mirrorless micro 4/3. It's about 7 years old but I really like it because it's compact compared to a SLR camera, but the downside is that since the viewfinder is a digital image rather than a "live" one that you get directly by light and mirrors, you can run into an issue...

Oh yeah and here is there Mom so you can at least see phenotype of the parents, though there's not telling what genetics the EE has going on.

The older Spitz-egger is 4 weeks old now and in the last week or so a lot of white has started coming in. They were both just black with brown heads at hatch. I dropped my camera last week and now I can't get it to focus well :( I need to pop a different lens up to see if its the camera body or...

Yay! I was so disappointed to not even see a little bit of extra fluff up there. There's still hope! Mine look almost exactly like yours except their heads have a brownish tinge. And actually today I noticed some sort of patterning might be coming in on their wings.

Could you see that little crest right after they fluffed up? So far I don't really see one on either of mine :(

One of my Spitz-eggers hatched this morning! It should be fluffy when I get home and I will take a pic to share. Hopefully my EE hen is being a good mama. It's her first time and I moved them (her, her chick, a just hatched guinea keet, and two unhatched Spitz-eggers) to the brooder coop this...

I am very lazy about candling now, too. When I first started hatching last year it was hard to resist candling every day lol. Last week I decided to candle a few eggs on a whim because I couldn't remember how far along some are and noticed a guinea looked very close to hatching. I moved it to...

I can't recall - is mom or dad the Spitz? And what color is the EE parent? I just candled my Spitz-eggers yesterday and 3 out of 5 show development. Then I accidentally dented one (I dropped a guinea egg on it) but luckily it was one of the ones not showing development. Opened it up and it...

Oh that's too bad. When is it due to to hatch? I have two eggs collected so far. Hormones are also kicking in with my EE and Marans roosters so there's no telling what I'll end up with but any would be good :) How old is Markie?

Did they hatch yet? I am planning to set some later this week.
