Technically, both. Here in Aus there is a Frizzle breed. I am stilling trying to figure out what exactly it is though... And Frizzle is also the feather mutation. Several breeds have Frizzle as an accepted variety such as Polish, cochin/pekin and Japanese bantams.

For sure. I just do my best to go off the online standard! There's always my personal opinion with what I'd like too. For example I'd kinda prefer mine a bit bigger, I like them as dual purpose not just laying. I've always thought Frizzle barnevelder would be fun project, but it'd be a very...

Thank you! They may not be perfect representatives of their breed but their personalities are too perfect for me to think about parting with them anytime soon 😅 I'm enjoying having them again. I've heard the lacing can be hard to perfect! My girls have a variety of quality. That's not my focus...

Sussex, Barnevelders, Silkies... My Breeding Thread.

Yes! I can technically trace my sussex back to the Light Sussex my family raised before I was the one in charge of the chickens. That's a huge part of why I am committed to working with my birds instead of just starting over with completely new, better quality ones. And yeah it can be...

Thanks! Both my roosters are split for dark (slate if i remember correctly?) shank colour. I can't keep any cockerels without having to grow them out and test breed them to see if they do too. Combine that with his bad temperament and poor hackle markings getting a new rooster just seems the...

Sussex, Barnevelders, Silkies... My Breeding Thread.

A thread for me to post pictures, other random thoughts and updates on my breeding projects. I currently keep Buff Sussex, Barnevelders (Gold and Silver), silkies and showgirls in various colours. I'll start with the Sussex and add the others in seperate posts. All recent pictures show...
