    Sad to report that a raccoon dug under the tractor around 5pm yesterday and killed all of our chickens. The raccoon didn't make it either. I guess they aren't strictly nocturnal. Wife and kids are very upset and I'm not doing much better. Thanks to everyone who took an interest in this thread...

    Just checked the list of chicks in stock at that store, Spitzhauben chicks were there..... maybe the young lady grabbed from the wrong spot

    Also for anyone interested the reason there are 7 is because Agway in Danbury, CT was doing a buy 6 get 1 free. Helping the new folks get started with the chicken math. Not sure if they still are having a sale or if it's only that agway.
