A 2nd egg thrown into my pasta for dinner :p

Had 1 dux egg on my sandwich, and 2 more given back to the ducks. No more for the dogs for now; one’s getting chunky, and another has an upset stomach. Speaking of mushrooms, I found a gorgeous false parasol today, about a 6 inch wide cap!! Unfortunately, it’s poisonous.. looks tasty, though.

5 dux eggs eaten this morning; 2 for me, 2 given back to the ducks, and just the 1 for my dogs.

I’ve already hatched my ducks for the year 😂 I’ve got them in the fridge for now.

So, I’ve gotten a little behind.. Any ideas on what to do with ~30 dux eggs? :oops:

I used 1 dux egg today to make fried ice cream! Very tasty.. I’m having a lot of fun experimenting with different recipes. My dogs got their 2 dux eggs as well :p

I had 2 runny-yolked dux eggs on hash browns late last night, and I’m very tempted to have them again today! So tasty :p

Cooking up 1 sunny side up and 1 scrambled dux egg for my toast, and 2 more dux eggs for my dogs :)

I just realized.. Both my laying hens are dux.. I’ve been eating dux eggs this whole time :eek: So 1 *dux egg this morning for me!

I certainly have a few dux, then! My first thought was that they were pompous, fancy, or rowdy birds; which actually doesn’t seem that far off 🤣

I was looking up Magpie Ducks earlier today, and came across an image that WAS a ‘pied bird, but most certainly not a duck. I just found it’s a Magpie Goose! I’d no idea they existed. Yes, there’s always more to learn :)

What’s the difference between dux / ducks and xickens / chickens?
