First time letting the ducklings outside n of course Goose (my cuddliest rooster) had to b involved.
He let them crawl all over him n it was adorable but also they're already so big and it's only been -- what, two weeks I think? edit: No, it's just been roughly over a week.
Anyway I haven't had...
Oh they're all adorable!! Thank you for sharing, I especially love when they've just fluffed out! They look so silly when they're still all damp. What breed are they? 😍
They're about 3 weeks as of now! It's not as visible in that picture but both are getting pure white feathers on their chests and a super cool pattern that I can't tell the exact color of on their wings and tails. I'm having so much fun watching them grow :wee
I don't have a buckeye, but I do want some one day! But thank you, I'm glad you think they're cute (they are cute, all chickens are so very cute😍)
edit: i thought the buckeyes were the ones like rhode island reds, that is, with the pea combs but maybe i'm off?
I do ave some reddish birds but...
New hatch! We ended up putting the only two others we got from the less successful one in with the new ones (Under supervision of course) and it went really well. The big ones don't bother the little ones at all, they're the center of the cuddle pile most of the time actually n they seem to...
True, but their father was brown forever an then turned black! Then again he was a rooster, so maybe the hen will stay one color?
Time really does fly, I will post updates though! 😄
They are doing really well!! I just took these pics, their feathers are coming in a lot already and I still don't know what color they are going to be but they are very sweet. The one is a lot more spicy though, that's the one I'm thinking is a hen!
edit: they are wiggly though they do not like...
Some more pics cause I love them featuring the 3 december pullets nearly all grown up, the father n daughter combo who look identical color-wise to each other (And it's really cool) and a pile of very cuddly hens (who bite the heck outta each other because they all need to be in my lap at once)
I do want Muscovys, that's really nice to hear! I have two jumbo Pekins and a Khaki Campbell right now (The two in the pond are the ducks and I want to build them a proper pond over the summer but I hadn't planned on ducks and I only got these because someone had dumped them :( but I now love...
Oh I LOVE them they are so small omgg!! You've got some super pretty eggs there too, dark brown eggs are some of my favs an I hope I can get some birds for that someday
:wee
Oohh that's so cool!! Spring is such a nice time for hatching them and your flock looks awesome too! I'd like a couple more ducks maybe and a goose or two also eventually but I must try to control myself for now ❤️
This is the first baby so far! There's another but the incubator's too fogged up right now to get any good pics of that one yet, either way I am excited. There's six eggs set though, and last I checked 1 more had pipped
🥹 I love chicks so much
So a lotta these pictures (but not all) are from last fall before things got dreary and muddy over-winter, but I wanted to share some pictures of my flock and ramble about how much I love them!
They are all very sweet birds, the roosters I've kept are friendly if a bit skittish (but some of...
