Well, characteristics depends on both parents, & genetics at play. Like if one parent is White, & the other is Black, the chick would be White, or Paint. But it can get tricky sometimes, with other combinations. Like a Red chick feathering out into a Silver Partridge.
These are just examples...
I'd breed too black. If he's Dun, chocolate, paint, or Splash the offspring will show whatever true color he is.
If he's Sex linked Chocolate, Female offspring will be Chocolate, & males Black.
If he's Splash, he'd make all Blues.
If he's Paint he'd make more Paints, or White birds, I think...
Found this as a possibility of the coloration. But the rooster may also be a "dirty" Splash, but really hard knowing without test breeding.

Well here's my Dun Malay with black in hackles, & saddles. Attempted to get just his brown/Chocolate color, but the lighting due to the snow wasn't great.
My Dun Malay has black in his hackles, & saddles. Will get close ups in a bit. The pictures I have currently aren't good enough to show that.
I also did read somewhere here, that Dun does leak black sometimes.
Yeah.
This was a hatch from my Giant Silkie Project. These are from a Silkie/Brahma X White Silkie back crossing. Got 1 Dominant White chick, out of it.
The chick all grown up.
Not necessarily all offspring would be white. What isn't known whether how many are pure for dominant white(2 copies), & who are only split(1 copy).
Not saying that these don't have the possibility of carrying recessive white, I'm just speaking from experience, breeding from them.
