they are getting up and around for snacks today! also, I set 10 duck eggs in my incubator as of last night!! having a bit of trouble with my other incubator for the lavender orp eggs… ugh

ok guys sorry this time is for real… i ended up having 8 hatch, 7 made it. I am LOVING the colors. holding 2 back to grow out, growing 2 for a friend, and selling the additional 3 !

FINAL HATCH COUNT: 6/10… what a cute and happy outcome… next hatch will be set Tuesday, but will fall into June I think!

sadly… one of my newer hatchlings just failed to thrive. never even fully dried. back to 4 (happy and well), but still more pipped. REALLY crossing my fingers at least one of the frizzle eggs makes it…

i gently lift her and she seems okay. i have had her since a baby, and silkies are usually VERY broody- hard to break. not sure what yours is, but lifting to check for chicks should be A okay (at least always has been for me)

lifted mom today to find 5 silkie babies & still 2 FRIZZLED eggs on the way!! ignore the dirty im sorry, i will be cleaning after they all hatch and relocating them anyhow…

i wish mine were fast! i feel like mine take ages, and it’s when i’m the most eager of course! let me see you little chicks!!

ended up with 3 slightly different silkie babies! they are so cute! I think that’s all i’m going to get, out of 10 eggs, but i’m going to leave the rest for another day… i could hear one or two others not too long ago. PS- loving everyone’s posts, thanks for being so welcoming.

as of this morning we had 2 babies. i put them together under the mama hen for now, as 1 came from my incubator and 1 from her. i love utilizing my hens when i can, they do amazing.

I have 10 silkie eggs hatching started tonight… and i get 18+ eggs in the mail monday! lavender orpington and call ducks. hope it’s not too late to hop on this thread..
