I've hatched and raise birds for decades and have never, ever, in all those years seen issues like this. Same incubators, same incubating, hatching and brooding process...even with my broodies the hatches are not as they usually are. I've noticed the feed doesn't smell like it used to. Not bad...
😥 I wish I knew. I'm running into the same issue. I have never had less than an 80% hatch with my own (the lowest hatch rate included a 10-hr power outage and was just over 80%), and most of my hatches prior to this year were 100%. Even with shipped eggs I've rarely had less than an 80% hatch...
The Ayam Cemani all hatched yesterday and the guineafowl are hatching today. I staggered them so that they were to hatch the same day, but apparently one group didn't get the memo, lol.
All five of the Ayam Cemani eggs have hatched! I'm hoping for at least a couple pullets as I have a young cockerel already. Excited to add these to my flock. 🖤
