Hatching has slowed dramatically with still a lot of eggs. This is what happened with my last hatch and there were a lot of losses
I went with my gut and started candling (today is day 22) and sure enough 3 were dead, haven't done a full eggtopsy yet.
I discovered this one with a very odd air...
I guess a bunch of them waited until 3am to hatch.
I am now at 10 hatches with 1 in the middle of zipping.
I can't tell how many pips anymore because they all got knocked around.
It always worries me when an egg goes pip side down 😬
5 have hatched
1 is zipping
10 have pipped
13 nothing yet but I've seen some rocking
My most recent one (the all yellow one) hatched sticky and I'm trying to figure out why.
Gave her a bath but as you can see she is still not looking very pretty.
Unfortunately I wasn't here for all of these...
All had gone perfectly with temp and humidity... until today. Lockdown was yesterday morning. My only guess is condensation dripped on the thermometer that controls the heat?
I came downstairs and the incubator thermometer was reading 93* but my backup thermometer was reading 104*
I think it...
This morning was lockdown for me. Candled a few days ago and ended up removing 4 eggs. So my final count today was 29 eggs. Everyone looked good at candling this morning so here's hoping they all hatch in a few days 🤞🤞
The 2 maran mixes in my last batch were my first born on day 20. I think those guys are just in a hurry lol that's how they act as full grown chickens too in my opinion
I also had to do weird math to figure out my days last batch because I put them in at 3pm! This time I decided to save myself...
Hi there
I'm new to the forum! (Although I've followed for years)
I just set my second round of eggs a couple of days ago with a due date of 5/16
My last round finished up on 4/23, but my hatch rate wasn't great (18/35). Before that I hadn't hatched in about 8 years!
I made some adjustments...
