9/10 for me. Perfect babies. I can’t wait to get more pictures of them all dry. It’s crazy. I got 8 black/black and white and only 1 yellow chick. Both dads were black when they were born so I have no clue who the father is. I love seeing their true colors pop up once all their gunk is dried.

11:32 and I’ve got a whole bunch pipped and Early Bird is unzipping. I have finals tomorrow but I can’t find sleep.

Took the turner out yesterday. Set them all up in a specific pattern. checked this morning and they were still in that pattern. came home from school and they’ve moved. still close to the pattern but some were turned and rolled too close to each other. They are trying to pierce the air cell.

I have one egg that is not as developed as the rest. I candles day 18 and they were very nicely developed. And then I candled one of them and it was still clear. The yolk area was dark like one had been forming but quit at some point. But I candled it and I swear it’s twitching. Just my eyes or...

can anyone help me figure out what this is? i’ve never seen something like it. maybe a meat spot? I hope not a blood clot. it’s not attached to the chick so it’s not a body part I think.

My 10 eggs in the incubator are so strong! They might even hatch early! Who knows. My broody hen Chip has broken one of her two eggs today on accident. So she’s down to just one. It’s on day 3 (not counting day 0 of course) and I candled it tonight and there is life inside. So exciting! I hope...

Next Thursday already. Time flies. So far Im still 10 for 10 and there are no bad smells. I also had a hen go broody. This is her first time and so I thought Why Not? and I let her sit on two to see how it goes. I’ll put that in the June Hatch-a-long.

One of the strongest candlings i’ve seen yet

I have 10 barnyard mixes set to hatch May 25th. That’s the last day of school for me so on the last day of school, I can look forward to coming home to hatching chicks. A great way to start off the summer.
