Up in my little corner, they seem to range from 4,000 up to 6,500 or so. I only looked at a few ads though, and all the ponies were in their late teens. And honestly, if I picked one, I'd go for the least expensive one, because he looked super sweet.
My Grandparents live five hours away, so it's not like I can hop on whenever I want to. When I ride their horses, it's just walking and trotting. Shiraz gets out of control when cantering, and we can't even ride Angel, as she's not trained enough. So no jumping.
I used to. The trainer who owned Echo moved away, and there aren't any more places to ride here. I'm in the middle of horse country, but it seems everyone already knows how to ride.
Went to the horse rescue yesterday! Elvis is loving his adopted mom, Serenity, and they have matching fly masks, which looks adorable. 🥰 Elvis is turning out to be a bay roan, and he's going to be gorgeous.
A new horse, well, a pony, technically, came in last week. @azurbanclucker, you should...
Not terribly hard. I've found tutorials on YouTube, and you can find parts on Etsy, Ebay, and www.riorondo.com. The last one I really love! Here's a picture of a saddle that I made from a kit.
Went to the horse rescue last week, to see the orphan foals. The foal in my profile picture, Elvis, got an adopted mom! This is his new mom, Serenity. She will walk up to you backwards so you can scratch her butt. So rude.
Carmel, who's really shy:
Maggie, Sonny, and Cher having fun:
Any western saddle I've ever lifted has been a lot less than fifty pounds. English saddles are lighter than western, but I'm not sure of the exact weight.
