Snickers
The white that he had as a chick completely faded out.
Currently treating him for SLM.
He found a little flock of his own. He likes to hang out with these three from this hatch: Peanutβs Hatch Along.
Twix
Chippy!
Heβs a gorgeous boy!
Snickers seems to be the outlier of the bunch.
He hangs out with Chippy and Twix almost of the time, but a lot of the time he just wanders off, alone, while Chippy stays with Twix and even attempts to mate her (she is not ready).
Chippy is getting the hang of it. He chases the older hens to...
Snickers is lookingβ¦. debatable.
I had been convinced he was a she until a few weeks agoβ¦ and now Iβm almost certain sheβs a he.
He is not crowing OR mating with the hens, like Chippy is, which is strange. No signs of being a cockerel other than his looks.. am I going crazy or is he really a...
It would!
Not sure if it would be possible though. Because not all of our Cochin X EE's lay blue eggs. I have 5 of them, and 3 lay blue eggs and the other two lay a cream colored egg.
If the cream layer was the mother of Chippy, then I don't believe Chippy could produce blue-egg laying...
They're all black with some gold markings on the hackle feathers.
They all look the same, except the roo has more gold/maroon markings.
Some have almost no gold markings, while others have a little more.
Some photos of the possible parents are in this thread, specifically page 2.
Will...
Iβm stumped. Who fathered and mothered Chippy?
Since he looked like a chipmunk as a chick, Iβm thinking the OEGB is the father, but heβs not looking bantam sized nowβ¦
Possible parents
Fathers
Golden Sebright bantam
Cochin x easter egger
Buff Cochin
Silver Duckwing OEGB
Golden Laced...
Twix doesnβt like getting her picture takenβ¦ I couldnβt get any nice pictures of her.
But here is Snickers and Chippy.
Some of the chickens were in the way when I was trying to take pictures of himβ¦
:th
Youβre right! Iβm going to have possibly one last hatch this year. Maybe Iβll do another hatch along.
The eggs are going to be from the entire flock so maybe Chippy will father some of the chicks that hatch!
All 3 musketeers are doing great!
My little boy starting crowing yesterday!
Will try to get a video when I can.
He is also beginning to mate with the older members of the flock. I know heβs going to be a beauty.
Snickers.
Will try getting more photos and videos later!
@Chicken Quest
Update!
All three are doing well. The two blacks seem to stick together throughout the day, while Chippy wanders alone for some reason.
It is very hard to get a good picture.. they are so flighty and jumpy now!
Name suggestions?

This one is 100% a pullet.
Chippy is still iffy to me, but looking more like a cockerel now. :(
Last but not least, another likely pullet.
Now, Iβm a little sad that the two blacks are pullets because a customer asked for a...
Peanut, my cochin mix bantam decided to switch to a different nest and refused to make her nest in the place that I chose..
Luckily I have another broody- a Buff Cochin banty.
She seems to like the spot I chose for her. I picked out 8 different eggs for her.
