another flock under a 50 mile mark near me and my hens :( . Come on warm weather--kill off this Avian flu! It stinks that I am cringing every time I see a wild bird of any kind in my yard.
Looks like a recent flock under the 100 mile mark from us has been detected. Knew it was coming ;( we just had a huge rise in song birds the last week.
This is a good question, I do not know the answer. I would think that they would test theirs first and then provide you with a notice if they test positive and test immediately, but I am just guessing. Will be interested to hear if someone knows for sure.
Is this happening? Scary if it is
We don't have anything here yet either, as far as I know, but I will be keeping my girls inside as well in their covered/enclosed run for now. I was going to start free ranging some this spring, but might have to just wait for a bit
I used to wear flip flops but my feet got so dirty I had to wash off at the well every time I visited the ladies.
I keep a tote in the shed by the coop with my coop shoes--then I only have to walk about 4 ft in the coop shoes
