Thank you for this link. My ancestors came from Scotland, England and Wales and my maiden name is Welsh. I hope to visit there one day.

And yet we have repeatedly seen in the last 4 years judges and DAs letting hardened criminals loose to repeat their crimes again. A sheriff may be a necessary exception but as far as executioner, stupid often has its own consequences. Our paved roads rarely get repaved and if I had children I...

Because all our government does with our money is launder it through wars or 'aid' to other countries and right back into their pockets. Why would ANYONE be pro tax. I don't need government. I govern myself just fine. I receive very little return for any of my taxes.

I absolutely hate that they took Matilda. I think she and Henry should have stayed together. Matilda has lived her entire life with Henry. I know, on a scale of things, its not as bad as taking children from their parents, but still, it makes me want to cry.

You couldn't get her parents to move to FL? I thought that was what everyone up north did, with about 25% settling in my county - Myrtle Beach, SC. As soon as my husband can retire, we are moving west. I'm not sure there will be enough land left to be semi rural by then. Unless we become...

Oh how beautiful she is! And so festive! (I will not knit sweaters for my chickens, I will not knit sweaters for my chickens, I will not knit sweaters for my chickens, I will knit sweaters for my chickens.) Why not? I did for my cats and my dogs. :lau

And sometimes, the smallholders are just looking for someone else to take responsibility and put themselves on the line. I'm sure you are aware of this. Any time you have to deal with socio, psycho or narcissistic people, it is a soul sucking battle.

I have believed for a long time that herd immunity is the only solution for any virus. I have also watched an unbelievable number of food producing facilities be burned to the ground over the last year. I may be wearing a tin foil hat, but it looks like culling domestic food birds is a...

Man, that was my first thought. The mental illness. The need to 'punish' someone for questioning their 'authority' is what this looks like to me. I agree with seeking legal advice or at least researching to see if C's statements are truthful.

You and I are of an age. When I was a child, one of the ways of training good behavior was shame. Nothing wrong with a little guilt or shame applied sparingly.

I'm 5' 4" and my husband is 6' 3". I design and we both build whatever I designed. Sometimes he gets frustrated with me. And sometimes I get frustrated with him because he likes to re-engineer my plans on the fly, after I have spent countless hours trying to look at every angle and need of...

And if you believe anything the FDA says, I have a bridge to sell you. If anything, the last 3 years have shown that governmental agencies are not to be trusted.

Well, we have a North Carolina and a South Carolina. The coastal areas are near sea level, but we also have mountains in both states. There is an area referred to as the "Sand Hills", then further west we have the Piedmont and then actual mountains. North Carolina extends further west than South...

I've never seen a tool like that. Looks interesting. We are about 80' above sea level and half our property is sand. The other half is clay. Drainage is good for our area, although I live in the middle between 3 swamps.

I finished processing the last of my roosters Tuesday. Made myself a big bowl of rooster noodle soup today and I am reporting back about the differences between mine and store bought. The first thing I noticed, is that much like the darker yolks you see in home raised eggs, the fat on my...

I haven't eaten any of these yet. I did precook them in an Instant Pot with broth and have frozen some. I plan to try one this week. I will let you know how it is. Honestly, in the US, the store bought chicken are all Cornish Crosses and have little to no taste. I am hoping these are more tasty...
