IMO, if one is concerned about the environment, animal welfare and eating wholesome, unadulterated food, the best way to make a difference is to grow/raise as much of your own food as possible.
I have no problem with vegetarians or vegans, whatever floats your boat :)
But it irritates me that most of them completely overlook the fact that millions of animals are killed in the process of growing their vegetables as well.
Sure, there's always going to be misinformation and bad advice, it's the nature of the beast. I was speaking more to the ratio of bad to good that's changed here lately. I've seen quite a few threads where there are pages and pages of nonsense.
Yep, it's sad, over the past year these forums have gone from being a wealth of good information to a dearth of good information. Most of the posts with great advice are quickly buried by 10X as many inane posts.

I don't mind reading everyone's opinions, even when I find them to be idiotic or downright ridiculous. There are lots of different people here, with lots of different opinions, and who knows I might learn something new. 🤷♀️
