I had some problems with one of my hens and soft shells this spring and I have also noticed lately alot of our eggs look out of shape or a little wavy/wrinkly. I think they aren't eating their layer feed or oyster shells as much because they are free ranging alot. I may look into a supplement...

Where did you find the place in Alabama? I would only use them in the spring summer and fall when the ladies are out free ranging. They dont venture far from coop in the winter, even though we do shovel and even snowblow paths for them :lau

I got a neat little drinker for the brooder this time from rent a coop. It has cups that stay half full so there is no mess with a waterer this time around. They only had the 2 gallon at the time I ordered though, which was a little big. It worked but bigger than I would have wanted or needed.
