Since theyre white you could dye them any color you want. I keep interesting feathers I find and chuck them in the freezer to disinfect. I sometimes just use them as an accent piece for bouquets and flowers. Wing feathers look great in old jars on desks. You might be able to get some ideas...
I wonder if they sell a prosthetic wing for birds like this :confused:sort of a how to train your dragon thing that would allow him to fly. What words does he say? I would love to see a video of the chatterbox:fl
Chickens are easier imo. It doesnt take long to reach slaughter weight and you get more meat...and eggs. Unless you're deadset on eating pigeons...:idunno
Thank you for finding him a loving home Serin. I know this has been difficult for you but he might not have made it in my care because of lack of knowledge. The fact that you raised him back up to a healthy weight and got him to fly again is more than I could ask for. It sucks that it didn't...
While it's sad to read that you're having issues with Rowan it's still up to you what you want to do. I do so want to see those eggs hatch. Rowan (if his band was correct) was hatched in 2018. I'm not sure how old pigeons live to be. I would think you'd have a easier time placing their...
At least he's taking his turn! That shows he's at least trying to be a good parent. Perhaps he's not the best mate...but hes the only one with the proper *cough* equipment. To Olive he might be "the last man on earth" since she knows nothing else. I personally have told guys "not of you were...
So excited about the new eggs! :weeShes probably just nervous because of what happened to her eggs before. I know chickens can get defensive if you take their eggs when they are broody. Perhaps her jolt to aggression is somehow related? :idunnonot all animals are great parents the first time...
Oh ok. I think I only went there once or twice in the 5 years I lived there. It's good to be home in Indiana. Chicago is nice to visit but I did not enjoy my time living there. Night made me very nervous.
Interesting! I guess I just never noticed them. I spent most of the time in the loop though. On rare occasions venturing to belmont or Chinatown. Other than that just the northwestern burbs.
Aww little Nemo! Please tell me you named the budgie Dory :fl also its been years since I lived in downtown Chicago but I dont recall any parrots:idunnoare they new to the area? Its probably been about 10 years since I've been there...:old
Nemo is a very apt name! Sounds like we put you on the adopting band wagon;) as for Olives harsh poop we in the chicken world call that a "broody poop"
Also it is important to keep in mind that Rowan has been through a lot. He had an owner...and they died. He was either let go or sold off. If he was sold off they just let him go and didnt want him anymore. Then he sprained his wing and wandered up our driveway for help. Talk about some...
I havent personally had much experience with Chewy but we did use 1800petmeds for our dog and cat. They even included a dog treat in the box and a voucher for wine. The dog got the treat and my sister got the wine. Both were very happy.
Im sure they are very happy to be alive after that...
