I found a guy locally that has them, trying to decide what I want to do, debating getting a dozen hatching eggs and Craig's listing the extras$$$$$ wise I think letting a perpetually broody silkie hatch and selling a few cheap on CL might be my best bet., he will sell chicks, point of lay etc...
Do any of you ever let "flawed" birds go at a discount to "a good home with no roosters"?
I understand not wanting to have inferior stock breeding, I have under an acre and can't keep roosters, we love a varied and unique flock of hens though.

These are beautiful birds and thank you all for sharing and trying to increase numbers and quality.
That said would I have any hope of keeping these in Wisconsin? Right now I just have a small layer flock and a few silkies but I am looking at a home with more room and more rooster friendly...
