I found a guy locally that has them, trying to decide what I want to do, debating getting a dozen hatching eggs and Craig's listing the extras$$$$$ wise I think letting a perpetually broody silkie hatch and selling a few cheap on CL might be my best bet., he will sell chicks, point of lay etc...

Do any of you ever let "flawed" birds go at a discount to "a good home with no roosters"? I understand not wanting to have inferior stock breeding, I have under an acre and can't keep roosters, we love a varied and unique flock of hens though. Little south of Green Bay WI and willing to drive.

These are beautiful birds and thank you all for sharing and trying to increase numbers and quality. That said would I have any hope of keeping these in Wisconsin? Right now I just have a small layer flock and a few silkies but I am looking at a home with more room and more rooster friendly...
