Thank you for all the condolences. And as far as the hawks are concerned, it sounds like my chicks and adult chickens will be confined to their run for a bit, at least when I'm not out there to watch them.

I think when we get another puppy it will be from an independent licensed breeder then. And as far as the hawks migrating south.....I pray not. The hens have been penned up all day, and although the run is plenty large enough for them, they like going out into the yard and doing their thing.
