I sure will he's one of the sweetest little ducks I own, he is super cute he's a blue Swedish duck. But I have two peakin from the same hatchery that are in rough shape from tractor supply too. But didn't want to leave them at the store so he might have a mini flock of his own if I can't get...
I got these on Amazon they make them special for ducks and you mesure the width and length and hight of the duck you need the boot for and they will 3d print or you can just get the basic ones. I'll attach a link
Well I broke my phone so didn't get a opertunity till now to update, but the vet said it's 100% a deformity and that we can either cull him or keep him and see if he adapts. Right now I bandage his little leg so it doesn't get sores but he is just as spunky as the rest if them. Even runs around...
Going to see what can be done to help it get around even if that means keeping his foot taped and a bandage on it. He's still a happy duck may turn out to just be a coop duck.
I've been so worries about this duckling that I was looking at both his feet today and the curled one now has his flipper open but a curled leg and today I discovered he has this extra little toe. His leg is most likely a deformity as the bone in his leg is a u shape, that has a extra growth off...
I don't think it's broken, he doesn't seem to be in pain and he's been super active but putting the niacin to him and taped his foot will see what happens
Thank you, I will keep updated I picked this lil duckling out myself so when I discovered his leg this morning I was very disheartened to see it. I have had 2 others that had injured there leg as adult birds but never had this happen in one of my babies. Will keep updating as he gets better.
This is what I use for all of my birds to give them extra boost, but will be adding to food and water for this lil guy to make sure he gets extra nutrients as well as some more vitamins
I have put a card board boot on he still wants to walk on his ankle not the foot but maybe with a full day of splitting that leg will come back into it going to try everything I can to help him.
I can not straiten the leg enough to put a boot on it I have these that i have used successfully in the past but this little guys leg seems to have a full curve to it not really 100% sure it is a tendon slip. Vet can not see it till Monday. Its moving around just fine and still a happy healthy...
This sweet babies leg is growing crooked, he's a blue Swedish, I've had it for about a week and it seemed to be standing fine and walking fine when i got him, he's been super hard to catch as he's still very mobile. he's fiesty so assessing has been hard but I noticed today he has a tumor like...
