    Need an experienced opinion

Chic seems to be doing well, the navel seems to be healing. Although I will say she is significantly small then the rest of them. But she may be my whiting true green which might be normal 🤔

    Need an experienced opinion

So this little chick was walking funny, upon inspection it seems to have something on its hind end, should I be concerned? I'm talking about the blackish spot/sac. It had wood chip stuck to it so I rinsed in warm water..

    Will a dog protect chickens?

We recently had our first batch of pullets killed by a raccoon during the day, which put quite the damper on mothers day. Wife and kids still arent quite over the loss. That raccoon is no longer going to be an issue but I have new chicks coming from mcmurray this week which gives me about a...

    Hybrid chick question

So I'm very new to all this but it seems that some hybrid type birds are the same but have different names ie golden comet = red cross. I'm wondering if whiting true blue is essentially just a different name for prarie bluebell egger? Whiting true green = starlight green egger ? I understand...

Wierd bump on head ? Chick breed?

Sad to report that a raccoon dug under the tractor around 5pm yesterday and killed all of our chickens. The raccoon didn't make it either. I guess they aren't strictly nocturnal. Wife and kids are very upset and I'm not doing much better. Thanks to everyone who took an interest in this thread...

    Coop tractor ?

Update So first I have a question I plan on using metal for the roof part of the A- frame and I forgot to account for 1/2 underlayment. Can I use Coroplast ? Im concerned about condensation in the winter months. If I put the 1/2 on the next piece of roofing won't sit right. Unfortunately per...

Wierd bump on head ? Chick breed?

Also for anyone interested the reason there are 7 is because Agway in Danbury, CT was doing a buy 6 get 1 free. Helping the new folks get started with the chicken math. Not sure if they still are having a sale or if it's only that agway.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look and post your thoughts. I guess time will tell about snowball lol and which ones are roosters. I'm totally new to the chicken thing, I guess I kind of thought by buying different chicken that they would be more easily identifiable. My initial thought was...
