The egg is under a broody chicken I found one was broken open and saw a forming baby duck so I was skeptical that there may be more babies in the other eggs so I checked and it was barley formed it was a red speckle so when I touched it my duck stopped laying on it so I put it in my broody hen...
It is a Swd
It is a swedish Blue duck. Yes I am positive because it was found fertile the day of my dance which was last month the 26th so its about 31 days I'd say
The egg still hasn't hatched ide say its about on day 31 and it still has not hatched but I can see it breathing in the shell so I'm pretty sure its alive if I see slight movement
So I looked yesterday at my eggs and turns out the baby duck is alive in the shell, I looked at it and it moved I'm pretty sure the beak is in the air Cell now because I saw something moving in the air Cell, He seems healthy but I'm not so sure when he is gonna hatch it should hatch today but I...
Im not incubating them tho my chickens are trying to hatch the duck eggs because I moved the eggs from the duck nest not knowing that they where fertile then it looked different then a un fertile egg so I canceled it and realized it was fertile so I put it back and the duck stopped laying on it...
So an update on my eggs is I might have been a few days ahead of the actual date they should hatch Friday but I looked carefully and saw a tiny movement so it is alive but I do see a shadow am I supposed to see a shadow in the egg or is that a bad sign? I still see veins but not Much movement...
there are three duck eggs and I cant force them move move from there nesting spots because they also lay eggs there so if I move the eggs they most likely wouldn't get layed on so I am unable to do that
So today is day 28 for the duck eggs and yesterday they seemed a little different, I saw a shadow like in the air Cell but I didn't see movement there are still veins but I relized that there is like a dark spot idk if its part of the duck but its just a tiny spot of darkness but I cant shine...
They both sit on it at the same time sometimes they'll sit right behind one just to get to the eggs. and sometimes they'll just sit on the eggs and when one moves the other will lay on them like 10 minutes after which when I notice that I just let all the birds out and leave the broodyest...
Okay should I check it everyday to see if the egg hatches and if it does should I take the baby duck out of the chicken pen since it is not a chicken baby?
I'm letting my broody hen do it because the duck went broody for like a week then quit and stopped laying on them so I had to put them in the pen that my broody hen is in
Hi I'm a new duck hatcher so I have a 26 17ish day old duck eggs I looked yesterday and saw veins and it was very dark I couldn't see any movement from the egg or anything. IS that supposed to be like that? I looked for movement but I literally cant see any movement and am very worried as I have...
