    Hen has not been laying

Hi! I hope everyone is doing well. One of my hens hasn’t laid for three days and I haven’t noticed anything wrong with her although she has been drinking a lot of water than she usually does, she does have a red comb. She’s walking, eating, and pooping just fine. Yesterday she did go in the...

    Hen jumping on another hen

Yes I have 3 feeders and there’s 7 hens, I have a pretty large run for them it’s like 120-150 square feet. Well, I know feathers flying out is not an injury but it could result into one if it continues happening because this hen does this about 6-7 times from what I’ve seen could be more. She...

    Hen jumping on another hen

Thanks for the info! Yes, now I’m starting to think it’s an attack maybe I just got confused at first because I saw her on top of the hen’s back just pecking her comb. The hens who are being attacked run away from her and don’t want to come near her. Whenever they come near her to eat she chases...

    Hen jumping on another hen

Well, that’s what I thought, to just give it some time, but today however I saw her attacking the other hen in the coop and pecking her comb and neck feathers, then some time later I saw her attacking again and pulling out her neck feathers, so I think isolation will be the better option because...

    Hen jumping on another hen

Yes I was thinking it was due to the moving of the coop.. because I have never seen this happen like they have pecked at each other but not getting on top of each other. It’s only one hen that does this and she does it to two of the others. She grabs them from their neck feathers and tries to...

    Is this frostbite?

Is this frostbite? If so, how to cure/help it? Does it hurt them? The temperatures have been cold but no where near negative temperatures, plus a few sunny days with rainy days.

Will my hen miss the rooster?

So I recently got a rooster about a month ago because my friend didn’t want it, I have 7 hens and he got along with them pretty well, especially the one lowest in the pecking order is always hanging around with him, unfortunately due to early loud crowing in the morning in my neighborhood, I’m...

Set up a new perch or no?

Hello I’m having the same problem with one of my hens during night time. I was wondering if you ended up adding a perch, if so did it help? Or If you didn’t, has the pecking decreased? One of my hens gets pecked on a lot during night time but she doesn’t peck anyone back and just continues to...

    Bumblefoot? Should I cage her?

Hmm don’t see any bumble foot. I would still do epsom salt just in case and it would also help with whatever injury there seems to be. Wouldn’t cage her but do what you think is best!
