Second rabbit doe gave birth to stillborn litter

I’m no expert but I used to breed rabbits and know a thing or two. It sounds possible it could be due to disease but it could also be bad genetics. Have they had any successful litters previously? I’m so sorry for your losses, it’s heartbreaking when this happens

Please help! Chick positioning and should I be worried? (Incubator)

So I have eggs in the incubator and wasn’t sure when they were due to hatch. I thought surely they were at least a week away from hatching so I kept the automatic turner on. I went to inspect about an hour and a half ago and saw one had pipped! I quickly removed the turner and have been watching...

    Dead hatcher

Oh no, I’m sorry to hear! I unfortunately had to get rid of two quitter eggs out of this clutch, I wonder if the heat had something to do with that. Im glad your hen got some babies in the end ❤️ On that note, I have moved one of her eggs to the incubator in fear of it dying or being crushed...

    Dead hatcher

I have done heaps and heaps of research over the past week (I wish I had have done it sooner!!) and found out they could also possibly kill any late hatchers. Due to this and other factors I went out and bought an incubator a couple of days ago and moved about 12 other eggs from the nest (I have...

    Dead hatcher

Thanks, I’ll definitely keep that in mind! It’s quite humid here but the days are so up and down. Some days are 40 degrees and others are 22! Sounds like a great tip if I ever run into that problem!

    Dead hatcher

Thank you! I’ll go and add that now! I’m in Australia and we have had up to 40 degree Celsius days lately so do you think it could maybe be a matter of being too warm? Thank you so much! I’m glad I found this site!

    Dead hatcher

There are about 6 other eggs and none have hatched. It doesn’t help that they’re all at different stages and I have no idea when they’re due to hatch! If you go and look at my other post it explains a bit more about the strange circumstances. I definitely think using the hens is the best way too...

    Dead hatcher

I feel she may have stepped on it because its whole body was exposed which was why I was confused that it didn’t survive. Thank you, I was quite devastated and felt really bad for mumma hen as she’s been so dedicated to hatching them.

    Dead hatcher

So today I checked under my broody (she’s been sitting on eggs) and one had hatched but unfortunately didn’t make it :( the chick had pretty much no shell around it other than at the bottom where it looked to have some blood too. I don’t know what happened or what went wrong because it otherwise...

    No idea of due date

Thank you so much for all this helpful information! Unfortunately I won’t be able to remove and eat the ISA brown eggs as some are already what looks like at least 10 days along. Out of the ones I was able to candle, at least two of the ISA brown eggs were moving and clearly alive. I think what...

    No idea of due date

Hi all! So we have 3 hens and a rooster (2 silkie hens, a silkie rooster and an ISA brown hen). The silkie hens began laying a clutch of eggs at the same time in the same nest box over the period of about 2 weeks and then both sat on them side by side. We decided to let nature take its course...
