Does anyone sex their week-old chicks (RIR) by looking at wings? I've read other posts here on it. Watched a video on UTube. Pullets will be long short? I have 3 and 11 in the incubator
I just found my first and hopefully last lash egg. The other chickens ate it. So this is from a viral infection? Not sure which chicken it came from. Any chance that the chicken that laid it will be ok? I don't see any signs of sickness. I have never seen this before.
My new buff orpingtons that I raised from Farm and Fleet are laying now at 5 months and the sweethearts are burying their eggs in the straw in the laying box. Today I started leaving the eggs alone because I do want them to be broody. Putting 5 in an incubator to get the new chicks going...
My Rhode rooster is mating today with my 4 month old buff orpingtons. One hen is receptive. so they are on their way. I don't think they are laying eggs yet. Is this pretty normal? Haven't seen any rubbery eggs anywhere yet.
