One of my three little ducklings randomly falling over

There are blue runners too so that's a possibility for one of them as it goes look thinner in the photo than a typical blue swedish. Edit: I just saw another photo here and it doesn't look more like a blue swedish than a blue runner.

Weak legs Runner duckling 4 weeks old

My runner gal was showing signs of weakness in the legs very early on. She could walk, run if she wanted but only in short bursts and would lay down while the others were all over the place. She sometimes would stand to eat at first but then lay down to finish. I started giving her brewers yeast...

    Do ducks kill the lawn?

If water pools up at all they will mud it up. Sometimes not too bad and it can recover but often times if left at it they can do maximum damage in a short timeframe, they're very destruction efficient. They even mud up around their pool if any gets splashed out.

    Do ducks kill the lawn?

I made the mistake as a new duck owner of letting them out on a rainy day.... and our back lawn has areas the water pools so they practically built a trench.... 🤦‍♀️

Can I incorporate Geese into my small duck flock?

I'm currently working on integrating my African gosling and her two ducklings with our 10 adult ducks. The gosling isn't afraid of anything, it's quite the opposite really lol.

    Do ducks kill the lawn?

If they free range during mud season in the spring or when it rains in the summer they absolutely can, especially if there's an area where the water may pool a little. Mine did. My back yard has hardly any grass on the flat area and before they decimated the grass they made a mini golf course...

    aggressive gosling

I'm wondering if it's a protection thing? I'm new to geese but got an African with a couple more ducklings and she is 3 1/2 weeks old. Within this week I've noticed her seem protective over the ducklings and sometimes us. If she that's a sound she's not comfortable with or an object (like large...

    African geese

Mine is the same. Social from the start. Always wants to be with us. Jumped out of brooder in no time, and it was level with the top of her head, jumped up, perched on it and jumped off the edge .... Little squirt.

    African geese

We got our African lady from Metzer, born on a Monday, picked her up at the post office with a couple ducklings on Thursday morning. She is an absolute doll, very social and loves being with us. From day one she was happy to be picked up and would call out for us. She got daily cuddles and we...

    African geese

We have an African Gosling female named Lucy. She's a doll. Socializes well and loves being around us. She's actually upset when we leave the room though she has other feathered friends lol. She loves to cuddle with us and be held, follows us around the house. She's 3 weeks old. She's already...

    Duckling drooping wing

I have a runner that's three weeks old tomorrow who's wings have just started to droop to the ground when she's laying down. Her legs started to seem weak within the first week of age. So I've been adding brewers yeast to their 20% protein crumble since I noticed her legs (which I used with all...

One of my three little ducklings randomly falling over

From my research and talking to duck experts I've been advised that medicated feed is to be avoided with ducks in part because they do not need it and often eat more than chicks resulting in them getting a larger dose than the chicks :-) We cannot always get waterfowl crumble in our area so I...
