So far what I have read on here is making me so anxious. What can we do to prevent or help. Someone said they literally come and kill your flock…that makes me incredibly sad and scared.

I feel terrible…my chicken seems different

Long story short…she had some wet poop on her butt. It had dried when I got to it the next day to remove it and clean it. I picked her up and she dislikes being touched …I held her and cleaned off the dry poop. Her vent looked fine…she sometimes gets poop on her fluffy behind. I noticed after I...

    Dirt digging and coop dirt

I am not sure if this is the place to post this but as of late I have been reading about the fungal infection growth in the U.S. and if I should be worried about coop dirt or my chickens getting sick? I like to move or dig dirt around for them to pick worms and maybe I’m nervous post Covid but...

    Snow on feet?

Hello, It’s snowing outside and my ladies seem to want to be out in the snow. At what point is it too dangerous for them to be out and about in the snow? It’s 27 out.

    Majestic eagle

I am used to battling hawks but this morning we were visited by two eagles. This is a new level of fear for me…my ladies are definitely not coming out of the run for a few days. Has anyone had to deal with eagles 🦅 stalking your flock?

How often to powder coop and run

Hello! How often should I power the coop and run for preventative measures. I use this product and have used to this past summer to rid my coop of mites and it did a great job. I just didn’t know how often to add on roost bars and coop.

    The girls said nope

First cold season with four lovely chickens. They have tons of cool runs and chunnels to use all day and today is 42 degrees and they came out and went into the covered run. I thought chickens didn’t mind colder temps? I wonder if the wind is bothering them.

Free range to a huge chicken run

Is it normal for my ladies to act like I put them in prison? I had a 60 foot long x 10 feet wide run made since they were getting stalked by hawks….but so far they seem pissed and annoyed. I completely understand from free ranging on an acre but I want them to be protected. Will they eventually...

    Words of encouragement

I feel so defeated. A couple weeks ago my 4 ladies had some red kites on the roost part of the coop. Caught it early and so far I have not found anything on them or the coop in over a week. I started to feel better about it and this morning I woke up and one of my girls has a swollen eye. She...

    Chickens prefer my green house

Me and my husband built a huge coop and run and it seems my ladies prefer to hang out in our green house. The run has grass and dirt but the green house has tiny pebbles. Maybe they like that better. Either way I work for them obviously 🤣
