I'd still say pullet. Unless you see a lot of wattles coming in in next week or so, but as someone else said legs aren't always a sigh(in my experience) good luck!
Our Brahmas are our sweetest, and anything hand raised is friendly imo lol
We have buff Orpington (never again), black Australorps, friendly but don't like touchy, Light Brahma- super friendly, Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers. Now that said when we go out to the coop they all come running and...
Currently we have a few laying eggs in second area. Will have to wait to adjust rungs this weekend as I work second shift when they aren't in/need the boxes.
The little ones keep stealing the hay lol
Having bought day old chicks and having a friendly broody hatch... Incubator.
Reasons: while our broody Mama let me mess with her, check eggs, check chicks, all around be involved, as the chicks grew up they got less handling from me and therefore became more feral lol like seriously, they...
Gotcha. Yeah we'll play with them. We used lumber we had on hand. The 2x3 seem okay for our Brahmas but may need to upgrade, which is fine. Gotta fix it, watch them use it and fix issues : )
From top to bottom or bottom to top? Or just one? (I'm at work and my brain isn't quite working lol) The bottom on is just sitting on the bricks lol.
I don't have a pic but we have a makeshift ladder roost thing (three bars, angled) we had in run and I put it next to it on one side and did see...
Well we think we got 13 today... But with all four of us going on and out and playing and cleaning, eggs were brought in at random as we checked on our newly broken broodies lol
We have 17 year old hens, one that I don't think lays at all (she has issues but bc they are pets moreso she stays)...
We will most likely have 3 easter egger roos that need homes.
Their father is a Blue Wheaten Ameraucana.
Mister: White one: mom is a white leghorn
Survivor: Red one: mom is Rhode Island Red
Subaru: Grey one: mom is a green layer: (something Amerucana x BCM)
We are in West central Indiana...
As of right now. I did move the feed pads, hay and egg over as well but forgot to take a pic. Kid stuck a brahma in and she was able to turn, stand and move around. May need to do a ladder, now sure yet. And we do have walking plank on bottom to add
Eta it is very sturdy, but hubby wanted to...
Thanks! Yes we already had the idea of "boxing" them in so stuff stays on as well as a walking board. Yes we know they are particle board and will get tore up and may not last long, but where they are going is enclosed and away from rain, if we have to adjust down the road we adjust. *We had...
Hubby brought in our biggest girl to see if they might work...
Yes, they would have a small board to keep eggs/padding in as well as a standing bar lol
