Frizzle polish - any idea on roo or hen?

About 7 weeks old frizzled gold laced polish chick. Can’t see any combs or waddles behind all the fluff so no idea and first time with this type of chicken. Any idea of roo or hen?

    What’s up with this frizzle?

It’s a frizzled polish yes! It acts a bit different I’d say. Not as confident, stands in one spot more often. Sits more often too. But eats, drinks, poos normally.

    What’s up with this frizzle?

We have two frizzle chicks, around 6 weeks old from same breeder. They look completely different. It’s also much smaller in size. Curious if anyone knows why? In the pic you can see the one in question at the bottom and its sibling is at the top of the photo. Just a runt? The one in question had...

    Hens or roo?

Hello! Second time with chicks and curious whether we have some hens this time. Last time we ended up with 4/5 being roosters 🫠 Breeds are Olive egger (black) and Easter egger (grey) and approx 3.5 week old. Thinking one for sure (last pic). It’s way more flighty/confident/speedy so much so I...

    Hens continue to sporadically lay…

Oh that was recommended for occasional sprinkles by the farmer store here. They just get it once in awhile. One is a chick we raised and soon will lay hopefully (maybe around 14w old). The other three we got from someone rehoming them. The black one lays almost every day. The girl we got them...

Okay added - Vancouver island Canada. Currently summer ranging anywhere between 10-35 degrees C( night/day) My partner buys the feed but it’s formulated for laying hens. They get chicken scratch too. Planning on getting some oyster shells to try. Fed through self feeding tubes and water...

Okay so posted a month or so ago that 3 new rehomed hens (ages 1-2 allegedly) had started laying very randomly with one laying almost every day, one maybe 1-2 a week ish, and one not at all and still has not. We got them june 12th so they should be adjusted by now yes? They seem happy and well...

    Rehomed hens - sporadic laying

They were a free rehome but feel as though the owner was honest as the chickens were their cared for pets.

    Rehomed hens - sporadic laying

Easter egger (laying every 1-2 days) and then two isla browns that we have had one egg from.

    Rehomed hens - sporadic laying

We took in three hens june 12th and only one hen has started laying an egg every 1-2 days. The other two have produced one in that timeframe. I anticipated it taking awhile for them to adjust so happy to be getting some already, but just confused on the inconsistency. They are all around 1-2...
