Yes, when do you need them? The LF hens were out in the yard this weekend with the Indio gigante roosters, so you probably want to wait until next week to make sure they are pure liege.

If you’re anywhere near Philly I have an all white cockerel and pullet hatched in may that are real pretty but don’t fit into my breeding program.

I think the ladies have stopped laying for the season or they are hiding their eggs real well. I haven’t seen any in about 4 days

    Importing Hatching Eggs

I looked into this. Apparently there are two classes of countries- those with high bird flu and those without. It might be easier from a “clean” country, but if I recall, the originating flock needs extensive testing for bird flu and a few others (like the whole flock or at least 2,500 birds)...

They go off lay pretty quick when stressed or unhappy. I’ve found mine are better layers than people say, but get them unhappy and they stop until a few days to a week after they feel better. It strikes me that unless you have other hens, she’s getting over bred. With 2 roo and 1 hen, I’m...

    Belgian liege fighter eggs

It’s too hot. They would start incubating before I collect them and during shipping at the wrong temp. I think you would have a terrible hatch rate. If you’re local you can pick them up and get them under your hen within a couple hours, they would probably be ok. I think I’d be wasting your time...

Hah, roosters are so unloved. I’m finally down to four roosters and still looking to re-home one more, plus I have a bunch of Indio gigante and liege at 4 weeks and 8 weeks, and don’t know what I’ve got. I managed to sell 5 4 week chicks last week, but I still have an abundance of chickens.

I have a few chicks, a rooster and a hen I would part with if you are anywhere near Philly

    Belgian liege fighter eggs

They are. They have all been sticking them under one broody, so I’ll have to add another nest box and wait a bit

My experience is the hens are almost entirely black, with possibly penguin faces or a touch of color on the head only. But my roosters are all black/gold or black birchen. I don’t have experience with the many other color varieties. If you look back in the thread, at least 7 of those in the pic...

Sorry for the bad pics. They don’t sit still when they are small. Chipmunk turned into the roo in the pic. I’ve had a very low survival rate of ones that look like penguins. Don’t know why.
