Well, today I went to get 10 more chicks and came home with 12 chicks and 4 duckies. That makes 32 chicks and 4 ducks in three days. Not including what I already have at home.

We built a harware cloth wall 4 ft inside the doors of our coop. We're in South Carolina and it's hot in the summer. We also added extra vents all around the top for when the doors need to be closed up. Since it's all hardware cloth I can keep the big doors open in the summer all night long.

I just bought five of the California Tan chicks from TSC today. They're yellow with black spots. Some have orange legs and some have black legs. I've never heard of them before.

My husband installed the Ador in between our (soon to be) covered enclosed pen and our uncovered (soon to have bird netting over it) pen.

My Ador arrived quickly and my husband installed it. It was so easy to install, just screw it in. Once the battery was put in it instantly opened the door. We're rebuilding our coop so I haven't added the extra open button yet.

After reading this thread I ordered the Ardor at 2 am last night. I already have a shipping notification. I added on the extended external pushbutton but didn't see any option for a solar panel. Where might I find one that is compatible?

I have a female Mallard named Fergie and a male Pekin named Travis. They were hatched around Feb 10th so they are a little over three months old. The two white ones are Pekin and the small, darker brown one is a Mallard. What is the lighter brown one in the front and the tall, thin one in the back? They were sold to us as Mallards and Pekins, but these two look different. Also, any clue on gender? I think the little Mallard is a female...

My son bought me ducklings from TSC 2 weeks ago. I have raised chickens, but never ducks. I called TSC and they said my yellow ducks are pekin and the brown ones are mallard. I have six total. One of the three yellow ducklings stands upright and has a leaner body, would this be a runner duck...

I candled them at 4 days and there was no hole. It must have happened at that point because that's the only time the eggs have been handled. Kind of hard to see but I can see the veins and the chick growing.

My eggs are due to hatch June 10th. I was just candling them and one of them has a hole in it on the side. The baby is developing, what do I do? Should I discard the egg now or let it and see what happens? Is there a way to close the hole?

I cracked open this egg and noticed all these little circles on the yolk. It looks like it's been fertilized 20 times lol.. What could it be? I didn't eat it and haven't seen it again on any of my other eggs. It's kind of hard to see with the glare but there are little circles all over the yolk.
