Yes, you can. I actually have one with bumblefoot right now and she is still laying; we are eating her eggs. Edit: I see NatJ posted a helpful reply on medication. I agree :)
You should definitely check the bottoms of her feet for swelling and a brown/black scab. I once had a chicken with...
Salutations!
I bought six chicks at a hatchery/barn and they are now almost 6 weeks old.
We were supposed to get 3 Crested Cream Legbars and 3 Easter Eggers, all female. However, I am now having trouble identifying both breed and gender.
I believe #1, #2, and #4 are Legbars and the others are...
She does, yes. I think more like 6 pounds. If I did the treatment incorrectly should I start over or continue, but with the right dose?
I didn't take a photo, but I might be able to. Not sure if they're still out there. I don't think it's lash material, as it was really small and more of a...
I'm using Safeguard, 0.25-0.5 mL orally for 3 days.
The chunks are a mix of firm white and brown inside.
I thought about it and I'm not sure what she's been eating, I think just normal food, sunflower seeds, and fresh water, as well as whatever she's getting from foraging-- tiny rocks, bugs...

2) She is sometimes, not all the time...
I have used pine or aspen shavings for 6-ish years with success. I also recommend against cedar shavings. I've heard sand is a great alternative to wood shavings.
Straw can harbor parasites and get soggy, so I'd recommend against that as well.
Good luck finding bedding for your chickens! :)
I will check the other birds' vents. Thank you. I didn't notice any wounds on the dead bird's vent area, but I did notice a lot of dried poop collected around the vent.
Thank you for the information. Flystrike would not spread to other hens, right?
I will continue deworming my chickens just in case and adjust the dosage to make sure it's the right amount. Thanks again.
Hello! I wanted to make sure I am using the correct method to deworm my chickens.
One of our birds sadly passed away on Saturday due to worms. We think it was cecal or capillary worms, possibly gapeworms but we didn't think so. There were small, short (1cm?), rounded, light-colored worms...
