Thanks for the reply. Gosh I do hope you're right.
It's just that it is overcast and 65 degrees outside. I do have several other birds with this bump above their eye now and they have very pale combs.
I just noticed today several of my birds with a single swollen bump above their eyes and one in particular panting. Quite a few have pale combs and egg production has been light lately.
It’s been hot lately so seeing a couple birds panting seemed ok. But today I saw the bumps…and my nuvogen...
Haven't had the time to write up a coop page or a build thread. I've hesitated posting pictures for fear of it being picked apart. But I love the Woods coop designs, own and have read many times the open air poultry house book, and am passionate about fresh air for birds, so I get excited when I...
I like how you have your nest boxes! I too was puzzled on the interior layout when we built our woods fresh air coop. My nest boxes as a result ended up too high, and now I have to pull little fluff balls out from the boxes and from roosting on top of them bc they are higher than roost. Big faux...

Just wanted to give an update. Pumpkin is doing so much better. The sore has started healing really nicely. I've been keeping it clean for 3 days. I let her go back out with the flock today because she just seems so sad and missing her friends ( not wanting to eat and drink). as soon as she was...
Oh goodness, thank you. Appreciate the kind words. I will post how she is doing tomorrow. She's all cleaned up and I spent about an hour removing the maggots. I will bathe her again this evening and treat with permetherin. She's def not feeling well. I know it must have been very painful for...
Thank you. Yup. That's what she got. Appreciate the link. Chicken chick has lots of good articles. My partner just went to buy the permetherin spray. My hen Punkin is going to make it dog gonnit! She's the oldest of my flock, and I'm not gonna let my stupid negligence take her down😔.
My sweet old hen, who is predisposed to poopy butt, have really bad poopy butt today and when I went to clean her off I saw it was infested with worms!:sick Poor sweet thing! I washed her well, soaked in epsom salt, cleaned with vetricyn, and literally pulled hundreds of these nasty little...
