I bought a single buff [/IMG]Orpington pullet @ the local feed store but I'm getting that niggling feeling that it's a cockerel! Anybody have a guess for me?
I have one! I'm using the 50 chick size for 6 chicks approx 1 week old. It is hot to the touch, I raised mine a bit off the shavings. They love it! During the day they "nap" next to it, and at night they get under it and juuuust stick their little heads out. (They are in a 70 degree house so...
I made the mistake of stopping by the feed store. "Just to look." Came home with five "Ameraucanas" (EE) and one buff Orpington. We got there just after they set the chicks out and chose the ones with the poofiest cheek and chin tufts. They can hardly see! [/IMG]
I need them all.
Eggs and chicks.
I want blue egg layers, olive eggers, Marans and some of those lemon cuckoo Neiderheiners!!!
(Basically I can't make up my mind. At all.)
If you pick me I get to buy an incubator!! Homeschooling kids, hatching eggs is the perfect biology lesson.
I originally got them because I wanted fresh, healthy eggs. I quickly discovered that I loved just sitting and watching them, or going in and petting my favorites. Even my husband, who was adamantly against "dirty stinky chickens" enjoyed "chicken tv". There are many reasons to love them and I...
Mine is going up right now!! It's my birthday present. :D We moved to Alaska and back to eastern Washington and I've been chicken-less for three long years. I'm currently looking for fall babies to fill it up! I had lavender Ameraucans from pips n peeps before, they were amazing!!
We used an...
My french is very limited but I was able to find a couple of breeders. Hopefully one of them speaks French! Lol. Do you import hatching eggs or adult birds? I'm trying to get a handle on exactly what it's going to cost. It seems like the 30 day quarantine for each adult bird, plus the cost of...
I looked at the import requirements; since France is considered to be free of Newcastle disease, the eggs do not need to be quarantined for 30 days. As long as I have all the appropriate veterinary clearances and have accurately filled out the USDA import packet (which is admittedly long and...
Hi! My brother is going to Paris in November (I know, bad timing for laying) and he said if I did the legwork he would be willing to hand carry hatching eggs home. Anybody know of an amazing breed that isn't in the US currently that I could bring home from
France? (I would go through all of the...
Includes 1288, 1210 autoturner w/ tray, and 30 quail eggs for $188.45 shipped. Is this a good buy? (I want quail eggs because my Ameraucanas are MONTHS from laying and I am no good at waiting!)
Thanks!!
