Getting peafowl friends for feral peacock?

Hello everyone! I moved to a rural area in Washington state a year ago and discovered that my house came with a feral peacock! He wanders the neighborhood but spends many nights sleeping in the tall pines around my house. I’m experienced with chickens but was new to peacocks. I’ve learned from...

    Encouraging feral peacock to stay

A minor update. He’s been coming around more often! He does a lap of the yard every morning. I definitely think he is feral at this point. Love seeing him in the yard, he is such a gorgeous bird. Thanks to everyone for the advice!

Sunflower, my 8ish month old australorp rooster, and the only member of my flock who likes the snow. He’s a city chick rescue (someone in city limits had a missexed chick) and he’s now loving life with his new flock in Snohomish, WA. He is not as nice as advertised, but we love him just the same...

Should we try to adopt a neighbor’s chickens?

I have successfully stopped egg eating by leaving a few fake eggs in the coop. I might have to do it for a few weeks every 6 months or so when my egg eater remembers that she wants to eat eggs. Only downside is that it encourages them to be broody in the summer. I’ve also had good luck adding...

    Encouraging feral peacock to stay

Thanks everyone! I have asked around with my neighbors and some of them had seen him around, but he didn’t belong to any of them. Still a mystery if he’s feral or belongs to someone else farther away. I may leave some food out for him to encourage him to visit more beyond just roosting.

Here’s a photo of him! I had no idea peacocks could roost 100 feet off the ground!

    Encouraging feral peacock to stay

Hi everyone! I’m an experienced chicken owner but totally new to anything peafowl. I recently moved to a rural area outside of Seattle, Washington. I live on a few cleared acres with woods and a mix of houses and farms (zoned R5). A “feral” (I assume!) peacock has been flying in every...

My two little roos starting fighting this morning, so this is a little more urgent. I'm willing to pay for shipping or drive several hours if someone wants one of them! And open to suggestions of where else to post them... I made an ad on craigslist and I'm contacting local 4H clubs.

Easter Egger and Bantam Frizzle Cockerel (Free, 2 months) Seattle area

I have 2 young (born August 21) roosters looking for a good home. We had a frizzle bantam cochin rooster that we adored but had to give up (and did find a nice home for so I'm hopeful I can again!) and we loved him so much we decided to try to hatch a few of the fertilized eggs we had left from...

Free Cockerel/Rooster near Seattle. Frizzled Bantam Cochin cutie!

Looking for a home for our accidental rooster. He's a white bantam frizzled cochin, great with the other chickens. Very cute and small for a rooster. He works hard for the hens and is always finding food for them and nearly 100% of our eggs are fertilized. He was born last September. He is a roo...

Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Hello. I have a four month old bantam frizzle that I am beginning to suspect is a cockerel. These are my first chickens and this is my only frizzle so I have no one to compare her (him?) to, and it seems hard to tell with frizzles. She has started kind of crowing in the morning, not a full on...
