My 6 3/4 year old Rhode Island Red hen Tu Tu laid an egg today... not a big one at 51 grams. JT

And I forgot the 3 Cinnamon Queen hens are 4 years old today. We need to have a birthday celebration for sure. JT

Sweet Pea one of the two remaining Rhode Island Red hens died last night. She was born on 8/16/17 so 4 months short of 7 years. She would snuggle her head under my arm the first winter to keep warm. She is the one that got frost bite on her comb a few years ago. So now I have 4 hens and 3-6...

You folks to the south west you getting any heavy rain? We got an inch this morning but it moved out and we are under a flash flood watch but we live above the high water mark so plenty safe from that. JT

We are down to 5 hens now, Victoria died today with no symptoms at all. So we have 3 Cinnamon Queens who are 4 years old and 2 Rhode Island Reds who are almost 7 years old. JT

It was pretty cool and I managed to get a photo or two of the total eclipse and some partials. Spaetzle was acting weird during the 3/4's part of the eclipse before total eclipse... I took a video and will upload it later. I "think" the hens just sat where they were as if it was a super cloudy...

We have clear skies here and I'm not leaving the house for anything today. JT

Got the wife home yesterday and I'm glad I don't have to drive anywhere today with all the crazy people here for the eclipse. JT
