How about those orders where they add extras for warmth and they happened to be Barred Rock cockerels... I know as I'm helping a fellow chicken keeper who was put in this position in town where there's a Rooster ordinance, kind of hands tied in this situation... And considering sexing chicks has...
Nope, just an Easter Egger barnyard mix(wellsummer, blk copper maran with Easter Egger hen) I know as I had one that looked like this fella... He was gorgeous and a sweet heart..
I wasn't able to,locate your post of Facebook DFW Rooster Exchange, definitively need a new post up there...seeing people looking for certain breed roos
Hi @Five12345
Are u still needing assistance with your hen? I could ask my parents if they are interested in helping you out, they're in Dartmouth. You're not very far fro them, what is age of her?
Hi im in Dallas too!
I definitely suggest using Facebook local chicken groups especially DFW Rooster Exchange, I've had lots of luck rehoming the ones I couldn't keep either, send me a PM...
Awee poor guy, he looks exactly like one we had to rehome over a year ago!
Good luck with him, I would encourage you to utilise Facebook & the DFW Rooster Exchange group to post too!
Awee poor thing, so wish I could help but am in Dallas with no upcoming trips to Austin... or if you traveling to Dallas anytime I would meet up...
If else fails check with Chicken Rescue on Facebook they are based there in your area..
A few suggestions to improve the luck of your rehome:
1. Definitely list location in your Post title for best results to reach your locals
2. Upload of pic
3. Seek out Tampa area, FL post threads, usually there is one for every state..
Best of luck!!
Very eye catching chicken coup, as your reflection states it's too small for the 3 full size hens as that was my 1st thought. Although that would make a great Brooder coup for a broody hen and her chicks.
I'm in Dallas and can relate to the flooding issue you encountered in Houston, just can't...
Hi @emmaget where exactly are u located? Might help if u include it in the post title.. also keep in mind: if you on Facebook, there are many local chicken groups to post to extend your exposure to getting them new homes.. if nothing works reach out I have another avenue for you at last resort...
Good luck with the rehome, try cross posting also on Facebook local(to you) chicken groups- our last one was placed in great flock and another Chicken lover who keeps in touch!
Gosh have no pending trips to Austin or I would totally help you out! Darn wish I wasn't in Dallas, TX.. Sorry to hear if your situation although keep in mind they really don't demand alot of attention.
Yup one always slips in from hatcheries... If you are Facebook, find local chicken groups and crosspost it there too!!
Add a picture of the guy!
Good luck on rehome, it takes some effort but usually ends well..
My first one was listed on CL, although it did take a lot longer to rehome but did find a great home for him.
The recent I rehome was on Facebook, still keep in touch with the new owner(can't help when you find other chicken loving peeps right?)
I do reach out and post flyers of any un...
