I've had different silkies over the years and personality has nothing to do with color. One pair of black Silkies were very close and sweet and then I had a pair of White Showgirls and the female was a bit hostile. But most of my Silkies of any color were very sweet.

I am surprised to hear that her eggs are normal. I had a legbar hen with wry tail and her eggs were an irregular shape and the shell was gritty. Sadly one of her eggs hatched out a chick with wry tail and her eggs are the same. Crocked gritty but plentiful.

If I were you I would post this on the thread on emergency help for diseases. sounds as if she might need a systemic antibiotic and or extra vitamins at least. So far you seem to be doing a brave job of caring for her. I never heard of anything like you describe.

NN or as sometimes called Turkens are both heat and cold tolerant. Most depending on breeding are good layers, calm and can be good foragers and some even go broody.

I have Nn with medium crests and full feather crosses with small crests. I think that they look interesting. If I remember correctly crest gene is dominate.

Each bird is different but it does take over one year in my experience. According to most posts, cocks are not really mature until close to or at two years of age. The hens neck will heal and it does thicken as they grow.
