I was thinking of taking a scientific approach to this life long debate. One washed egg, I mean really scrub it down, and one unwashed egg. In a bowl, add water and red or blue food colouring. Place both eggs in the water for a few days. I'm curious to see if the Washed egg will actually absorb...
So, I have a Rooster named Fraulein, yes Fraulein because when we got her, ah Him, we thought he was a hen. Anyway, He was also born with a splayed leg which was not correctable by the time I got him. He is half the size of the other roosters so he lives happily with the goats in the goat barn...
It's been a few years but I remember the incident like it was yesterday. Well all I can say is that everything I did turned out super fantastic. The Turkey survived and lived a great life after that. When we did cull her the scar was visible but it had healed perfectly.
This has been an on going dispute for years. Is there anyone who can definitavly or scientificly prove with sources the true answer to this age old question. Something solid.
The pencil idea is great, but how long are eggs generally good for? One week? two? I would hate for someone to come back and say I sold them some rotten eggs
I just read your post Shannon, I would try to clean the wounds if you can. I'm sorry about your incident too. I know it is a part of nature, but I feel as though it's my fault because I wasn't going to let them out because the fox got one of my leghorn layers monday evening. I thought because I...
I need a little help today. I had a fox jump on one of the turkeys while they were out ranging, and I was not far, -the fox is very bold-, (daytime too). Turkey got away after I gave chase to the fox, however, she has a open wound to her buttock and a patch of skin is missing about the size of a...
Hi guys, I'm sure this has been written about before in the forums in the past, but i've never hatched any chicks before so my first question is;
After you have your incubator and everything is set, do I just take freshly laid eggs from the coop and put them in?
Hi 4H kids and Mom
Being a graphic designer also, my opinion is I think it is clean and clear. A few typos that were already mentioned is no big deal, We proof read everything ten times before it goes to print. The B/W was a good choice, it will save you printing costs.
Good Job, and good idea...
Nice Car! Here is an Idea, take a toilette plunger and stick it in the center of the "ding", and pop it back out, I saw the guy at a collision garage do that to some poor fella and then he probably charged him $$$$$$ for something he could do himself!!! :o
sorry about your troubles.
I culled one of our roosters this evening and I feel rather bad about it (moral issues). It was not a very nice rooster and it was somewhat of an agressive rooster too. I hope I did the right thing, I couldn't give it to anyone because of its behavior. I just don't feel good about it.
Oh my! Thanks for all the good Information. I really think I can do this. What about cold winters if I keep them, I don't think I want to eat my ducks should I get them.
Hi all!
I've been wanting a couple ducks for a while now, but I've never had any before. Would I need to build a pond for them in the yard since there is no natural water in my area? What about duck housing and feed, I guess the whole nine yards. Do they get along with chickens too?
Hi Barg, Husband and Family.
I just wanted to state that I was not applauding about your daughters thread being deleted, rather that the staff at BYC are aware and will take percautions so that all our children are safe.
Perhaps it may be possible that there is an addition to BYC just for...
Good call! I have three children who help out with the chickens but I wont post their pictures or stuff about them in the forums... Wish it was not so, but we have to protect our children.
Thank you BYC.
