I’m hoping since they are seperate from everything it won’t have really passed on. I’m thinking I should cull and get more poults from somebody else.

    Should I keep them?

I recently purchased 4 turkey poults. A day after getting them one got a runny nose and one eye was running a little. I immediately culled this bird because I have a small breeding farm and I don’t do antibiotics. Should I continue to raise the other 3 as long as they don’t show signs or should...

I’m leaning towards cockerel. The head feathers are pointy and the crest on a pullet should be nice and round by that age.

    Dickey incubator egg turner trouble.

I recently purchased a used dickeys incubator and everything is working great except the automatic turner. The egg turner will move the trays fine in manual mode. But when I flip the switch to automatic it just moves the turner to the right one time and doesn’t turn them anymore. Is this...

    Thoughts?

my birds are very important to me. I may just be stubborn but I don’t believe they really have anything going on with them. No I wouldn’t knowingly sell someone a sick bird but I do believe the chicks I have are healthy . If anyone ask about sickness etc. I will tell them exactly what I am...

    Thoughts?

These are not the birds that were carriers those were culled. These birds that I have now have not been exposed to anything that ik of. I called a vet and they said it was more than likely just the flies. So I don’t see a reason in getting rid of my whole flock. I am going to cull the two birds...

    Thoughts?

We all know that sickness and disease is part of raising birds. Everything from MG to Fowl pox. So what about managing it? I am a breeder, and I do sell stock. So I was wondering what everyone else’s thoughts were on this. I want to sell the healthiest most viable birds I can. So some of my...

    Colour genetics question.

They will be black but split to lavender. So when the f1s are bred back to lavender it will produce lavender. Self- blue and lavender are the same thing so there is no splash and black offspring like with the BBS gene.
