Wow, 4/5 were boys, that really does stink! Sorry you've ended with so many boys. I wish you better luck in any future chicks yiu get :)
On a side note, one of my Barred Rocks squatted yesterday so hopefully will be seeing eggs soon.
Thank you, she has turned out very nice. I always say gray but it could be considered lavender. She was chocolate brown as a chick. It was interesting to see her change as she grew. And yes, they both have the three row combs which I think was making everyone lean towards boys when they were...
That's what I was figuring too. My first batch of chickens were all Buff Orpingtons and I had a boy in the group. We were pretty sure at five weeks but by 22 weeks he was definitely ALL boy.
I got six chicks in this batch, 2 barred rocks, 2 speckled sussex and 2 Easter eggers. I think I really...
Yay! :weee
I was hoping they were girls. Especially at the age they are at. Looking forward to eggs soon. My three older girls started molting awhile back so I haven't had any eggs :(

Oh No :(
That will really stink! I just looked at the chicks and to me they barely have any comb, but these are also the first EE's I have ever had. Maybe the pictures make them look bigger, LOL
I will definitely post updates as they chicks grow.
Thanks! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for sure.
what did she look like as a chick? My second one was brown.
The yellow chipmunk is the first EE picture posted.
I've been reading this thread from beginning but started to jump around cause its so long, lol. I've seen pics of boys with...
EE's are just so amazing with all the colors and how much they change from chick to adult too. I have two, already wishing I had gotten more :)
I'll post pics of my two. They are only about 3 1/2 weeks old.
Here's the first one. All the reading about the red scares me a little though. But...
