They were not mentioned on Hoover’s site, but the photo at Tractor Supply showed a barred hen. I know a solid rooster over a barred hen produces a sex link, so you could be right about the cross.
I’m not familiar with them either, but I just bought six at tractor supply this morning. They get their chicks from Hoover’s Hatchery, and I assume it’s a cross they have developed. I’m going to check Hoover’s website first chance I get.
I can't see anything inside the mouth, but Mama flogs me every time I get one of her babies. The poults are only 19 days old, and I noticed some spots around the eyes on a couple of them earlier on, but I thought it was dirt initially. I realized all 6 poults had these large tumors 2 days ago.
It looks like all 6 of my Royal Palm turkey poults have developed these eye tumors. Some are worse than this. Any thoughts or suggestions? This is a first, and my only theory is that I used a different starter feed this time.
Today I found a hen having trouble with her neck. It is pulling to the left, and she is breathing through her mouth (it's hot and humid in Alabama though). Has your hen improved?
I have a hen that plucked all the feathers from my EE rooster's muffs and beard, and he let her do it. I was so shocked when I caught her in the act that I videoed it. I just noticed yesterday, that this same hen is totally bald on her backside and belly, and I can only assume that she has...
Thank you, Shawneegyrl, but one of the lavs started looking handsome today It's amazing how much difference one day can make. I'm not giving up hope though!
These are the two "lavenders" that should be near the POL. I'm guessing I should be on the blue ameraucana page. Just please don't tell me that they might be Roos ;)
