Question about Black copper maran eggs

No I do not know where he got them from, he had a huge chicken farm and did his own breeding. The reason I bought them was because I wanted chocolate eggs which is what I told him when I bought them. I am really upset! They are extremely light brown eggs. So they wont darken at all then, She...

    Can I eat them yet?

I've read that dual purpose breeds are best around 4-5 months. Hopefully someone can confirm that since I have 2 EE roosters and if I can't sell them I plan to do the same thing and this will be my 1st experience with butchering.

How do you get your chicks to follow you? =/

Mine follow me around, but it took a year for them to do it. I'm the only one that feeds them and gives them treats and we have lost 5 girls to hawk/fox attacks last spring/summer. We have been present and chased a hawk off already. so I think when they see me its she brings safety and food lol...

Is this EE a roo or a pullet?

Yes its a single comb, that's why I was thinking roo. They weren't from a hatchery though. I found them on craigslist, the lady said her hens all layed either blue or pink eggs and she hatched the eggs from her hens. She said they were all pullets and i'm hoping they are because I can't have...
