    Unfortunetly I do not, It was my first time hatching eggs so it was a learning experience I now know to mark and log eggs etc. odds are out of 9 hens they are not from the same mother. Hopefully it will be ok and I wont have egg viability or chick health issues. Thank you for your response,

    She will be fine I used lysol wipes to clean the butts of my chicks figured it kills 99.9% of germs so I used it as a wipe it is almost impossible to get the poop off without taking a bit of fuzz.     If your power ever goes out again here is what I did it could save your hatch and live chicks it did mine! I had power go out and what I did was I filled a doubled ziplock bag with really hot tap water and laid it in the incubator to keep the temperature up. I was in the middle of chicks...

    Hen got bit on foot by rattle snake

    Oh Good! No I did not see the snake, but with the amount of rattle snakes in our area (neighbor just killed 5) and we found a baby one when we first moved in. the only other snake I have ever seen was a garden snake that I took away from the hens. We also have scorpions and apparently tarantulas...

    Hen got bit on foot by rattle snake

    My hen was bitten by a rattle snake, she seams to be better today thye swelling is going down and the color is less purple. My question is if she makes it will her eggs be okay to eat as well as her meat when that time comes? Thank you for your help.

    If you live in an area with orchards the old picker boxes make great permanent nesting boxes! and are either free or less than a buck each. What did you recycle to make the siding? Very thrifty! I like that!
